Shop Hand · Schererville, Indiana

Shop Hand

Full time. Tuesday to Friday 9 to 5, Saturday 9 to 2. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Day one

$17 to $20

Per hour, depending on what you bring in the door.

About six months in

$25

Per hour, once you can install tint on your own. Good installers make more than that.

The job

You work the shop and the front desk

Most of the time you're in the back running the plotter, prepping cars, keeping the bays clean, and staying ahead of whatever the installers need next.

Then the phone rings, or somebody walks in, or a car is ready to go out. That's yours. You stop what you're doing, take care of the customer, and get back to it.

You will get interrupted constantly, and that comes with the job.

If you'd rather be busy than bored, you'll like it here.

Nobody here is cutting film in month one. You learn the shop first, then you learn to install.

Answer the phone

Book estimates, answer questions, take messages that are actually useful.

Handle customers

Greet them, walk them through what we're doing to their car, ring them out.

Run the plotter

The machine that cuts our film patterns. It's software driven. We'll teach you.

Prep vehicles

Wash, decontaminate, pull trim, get panels ready for film.

Keep the shop clean

Dust ruins a clean install, so keeping the shop clean is part of the quality.

Stay ahead of the installers

Material staged and the next car ready so nothing is waiting on you.

Experienced installer · Schererville, Indiana

Tint or PPF Installer

You already know how to do this, so this part is short. Tuesday to Friday 9 to 5, Saturday 9 to 2. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Pay

$25 an hour is where a fully capable installer starts. There's no pay band here and no ceiling. Prove what you can do and you'll make more.

How hiring works

Resumes don't tell me anything about how you handle a hood. We meet face to face, then you come work in the shop with me so we can both see where you're at.

We don't run cheap film. If it isn't proven, it doesn't get installed. You won't be fighting garbage material to make somebody's margin.
Steady Tesla volume, plus PPF, tint, audio and remote start.
Sundays and Mondays off. The shop is closed both days.
Tools provided. Flexible paid time off, plus a paid week off per year after nine months.
Currently employed? This stays between us. I've been in this industry a long time and I know how small it is.
